Does Israel subjugate USA?

I watched the speech of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at US congress. I was impressed that he got tremendous applause from US politicians so many times during his address which rejected President Obama's call to shift Israeli borders for peace. Why? Are all US politicians afraid of the power of Israel lobby? It looks Israel subjugates US.
