Tampon problems!! Please help!!!?

Okay. Well I've had my period for about a year and a half, and have been trying to use tampons for about 1 year. Well I know where the hole is, and I have plastic applicator tampons, but I still can't do it. I push it in hard, and it doesn't really go anywhere, it just hurts!:/ and when I speed the skin apart I don't see Luke a defined hole, but like a slit where the blood comes from. And I REALLY want to use a tamon, cause I can't stand pads, and just hate the feeling of blood flowing out of me and having wet pants! So how can I put it in, cause it's really hard!!:( I'm 15 btw
